The Fourth!!!

We had a very busy 4th of July and unfortunately I didn't get pictures of half of it. We started off the day with an early lunch at Cheesecake Factory with our friends M, S and their kids. Then we headed home and got in the pool for a couple hours - Cole had a blast swimming and showing us his reach and pull and ability to take breaths as he crosses the pool. He also played beach ball/pool noodle baseball with Daddy. After letting Jagger have a quick swim as well everyone took a little rest since we still had a long way to go to fireworks.

After our rest we headed over to the beach to play mini golf but we didn't tell Cole where we were going in case with ran into the beach traffic we're so used to on holidays around here. Fortunately it seemed like everyone who was going to the beach had already arrived. Cole had fallen asleep in the car on the way over and was very excited to wake up to mini golf. Unfortunately we had to rush most of the course because it started thundering as we hit the sixth or seventh hole. This is also why I didn't get any pictures. After golf, we headed down to 7-11 to get Cole a slurpee for a treat since he always loved getting ice cream at the beach from our favorite ice cream parlor back from my childhood. Since the traffic was light we decided to cruise the beach and made it all the way over to Clearwater Beach before we hit any kind of back-up and it really wasn't any worse than any usual weekend over there.

By the time we got home it was pouring, so we had dinner (leftover ribs - YUM!) and watched the weather to see what would happen with fireworks. It cleared up and there were no reports otherwise so we headed out to Bayshore to watch them just before 9 p.m. Unfortunately, we hung out on Bayshore for 40 minutes and no fireworks appeared. We headed home to do more fireworks and sparklers of our own. We heard later on the news that the show started over 45 minutes late, so we apparently just missed it. Boo! Next year, we're definitely going to a beach somewhere because last year in Ft. Lauderdale was perfect.

Doing sparklers on Bayshore with Daddy waiting for fireworks.

My handsome guys

More home fireworks - we unintentionally picked a good time to have our sprinkler system re-done and lawn ripped out.

Love the look on his face as he watched our fireworks.
